GA and Forum on Open Resources for Librarians in the Digital Age

The Agricultural Librarians Association of the Philippines, Inc (ALAP) has organized a Forum on "Open Resources for Librarians in the Digital Age" on June 6, 2008 at the College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology (CEAT) Library, UP Los BaƱos, Laguna. There is a registration fee of Php200 (to cover snacks, lunch, handouts and certificates) and the program officially starts at 8:45am.

Speakers include Mr. Chito N. Angeles who will talk about "Open Resources for Libraries in the Digital Age", Ms. Kristine E. Mandigma who will share about "WikiPilipinas: Philippine Encyclopedia" and Ms. Susima L. Gonzales who will give some PLAI Updates.

The General Assembly of ALAP members will follow after the forum.

Enhancing the Capacity of Information Professionals

The Agricultural Librarians Association of the Philippines (ALAP) organized a Seminar-Workshop on "Enhancing the Capacity of Information Professionals for Effective Agricultural Information Management, Sharing and Dissemination" last February 21-22, 2008 at the Benguet State University.

The seminar-workshop was sponsored by FAO for PhilAgriNet (Philippine Agricultural Libraries and Information Services Network) member thus limiting the number of participants to 40. The seminar fee was collected Php2,500 for registration, food and accommodation, handouts, certificates and socials.
